This is a training plan for the 5k based on the Easy Interval Method (EIM). EIM is a training system devised by former Dutch elite Klaas Lok, with a focus on high aerobic training - the same type of running that most racing is. By making the interval paces 'easy' (this is a relative term, they are of course fast but should not be 'hard'), and combined with generous recovery which doubles up as low aerobic training, you are able to accumulate a lot more running at this level than if you were to ...
